I'm glad to say all my piggies and buns are well, apart from Jasmine who is suffering from mites again. Poor Jassy seems more prone to them than my other piggies. All the piggies are now taking a course of oral ivermectin. My other 5 piggies was wondering why they have to take this yucky medicine when it seems that Jasmine is the only one affected. Anyway after I explained to them that all piggies in the herd need mite treatment at the same time, in the hope that the mites won't be passed on, they soon forgave Jasmine :)

I'm so pleased to say that Squeekie won 3rd prize in a photo competition at aL's Piggie World Here is Squeekie's prize. Thank you so much aL for the wonderful drawing of Squeekie, we love it!!

I'm having a very worrying time because my poor Squeekie has been quite poorly. He needed a tooth operation because he had an overgrown molar that caused him to develope a wound/ulcer. Thankfully Squeekie came through the operation alright, but he's not eating on his own yet. Fingers crossed he will start to eat completly on his own soon. I've been syringe feeding him and trying to keep his weight stable.

I'm so glad to say that Squeekie is recovering much better. He's now eating on his own and he's tucking into his pellets as I type. Its been two days now without any relapse, plus he's not dropping his vegetables while eating, which is usually a sign that a guinea pig is struggling to eat. He's still a little slow at eating compared to Clover who eats her grass as though she is sucking up spaghetti :), but he's doing really well. I'm so relieved! I'll be keeping an extra close eye on him though in case his back molar starts causing him problems again.

My other news is that Clover and Jasmine celebrate their birthdays this month. Both my girls will be 4 years old, so a very 'Happy Birthday' to my sweethearts Clover and Jasmine!

Thankfully Clover has now recovered, but for two weeks she was suffering from diarrhoea and a UTI. I was so relieved when she started improving.
Here's a gorgeous drawing of my Clover that my friend aL did for me while Clover was poorly, she even has her orange spot on her nose, thank you so much aL!, I love it!

As some of our visitors know, I've had a very worrying time with my Clover for the past few weeks. Thankfully she recovered from her UTI and for 3 weeks or so she was in good health. Now poor Clover has started with a snuffle. She's eating very well and is active which are very good signs, but after 5 days of antibiotics, she is still snuffly. There's no liquid around her nose and her breathing isn't laboured. My vet thinks that because she was quite poorly a few weeks ago, its left her prone to develope a URI. After an examination at the vets last saturday, it was found that Clover has a little fluid on her lungs. Fingers crossed the course of antibiotics will start working. I'll be taking her again on saturday so the vet can check her over again. I'll update the diary to let you know how Clover's doing.
Peachy has also been to the vets as she started with diarrhoea. Thankfully it was only a 24hr bug. Apart from an eye injury, Peachy hasn't ever been poorly before. I gave her some probiotic with water so that she didn't become dehydrated. Because her poops were slowly forming into the normal bean shape, her vet decided to leave out an antibiotic, unless of course she deteriorated. By the following day, her poops were back to normal, although a little soft. By day 3 her poops were completly fine.
