Guinea Pig Health Links

Here are links to guinea pig health sites that I personally recommend. However, although all these links will give you a vast amount of information about guinea pig health problems, the information doesn't replace a consultation with your vet. If you suspect your guinea pig is poorly, please take your guinea pig to see your vet as soon as possible. Please note: Your vet needs to be a veterinary that works with exotic pets, guinea pigs, reptiles and small animals.

The Peter Gurney Guinea Pig Health Guide One of my favourite authors of guinea pig care books. Its an excellent site, covering many guinea pig health problems.

Peter Gurney's A - Z of Guinea Pigs An excellent reference guide by Peter Gurney. This section includes many health problems in guinea pigs and also includes lots of general information, ageing, breeds and much more.

Guinea Lynx An outstanding medical and care guide for guinea pigs. Guinea Lynx also has a medical forum where you can ask questions or read posts that are related to your guinea pig health problem.

Lets Keep it Simple by Vedra Stanley-Spatcher of 'The Cambridge Cavy Trust'. A guide on how to avoid some of the most frequent health problems in guinea pigs.

New: Kazzys Cavy Health and Welfare An excellent site covering subjects on respiratory problems, diarrhoea, cystitis and also includes a list for a first aid kit and an extensive page on fungal skin problems in guinea pigs. The Cambridge Cavy Trust is a guinea pig hospital in the UK. I can't seem to find the CCT site so the above link will take you to my page telling you all about the hospital.

Treen's Pigs: Health Focus Pages Treen has lots of information on several health problems that Treen has encountered with her own guinea pigs.

Seagull's Illness and Ailments A site that has been around for quite a few years and has excellent information on guinea pig health problems.

Elderly Guinea Pigs A very informative page about what to expect when your guinea pig is becoming elderly and tips about taking care of your elderly guinea pig.

Guinea Pig Message Boards

Guinea pig message boards enable you to ask questions about guinea pig health matters with other guinea pig owners. You can also do a search on the message board to try and find what you are looking for. Remember to always be polite and read the rules and guidelines before posting.
