Name
Thumper, named after the sweet little bunny in the Disney film, Bambi and also because Thumper often thumps if I'm taking too long preparing her vegetables.
Born
Thumper was born 6th August 2002 and came to live with us at 9 weeks old. Thumper belongs to my youngest daughter Jenna.
Breed
Thumper is an English mix.
Personality
Thumper is very loveable, while being stroked, she'll crouch down, close her eyes, looking so contented and relaxed. When she's out playing she has such high spirits and will charge around, leaping in the air and investigating everything. Thumper can get up to mischief, she likes a sneaky tug of the carpet if she thinks nobody is watching, a firm no and she stops straight away. Thumper's antics are so funny, she always has this thing of trying to lie down on the door step. Its a place to cool down if she's abit warm, but Thumper's far too big, doesn't stop her trying though! She just throws herself on her side, but slowly slips off, bless her.
Thumper was litter trained from a very early age, she used to choose the same spot in the hall every time, its the same in her cage. For a long time now, Thumper jumps into her cage if she needs the bathroom during free-range time. Thumper is a very good drinker, she love's producing long flowing rivers for us to admire. She also loves her food and will bite the bars of her cage at veggie time.
Likes and Dislikes
There really isn't any food that I give Thumper that will make her turn her nose away, she adores her veg and a small amount of fruit. I'm sure she'd eat a full bowl of Shreddies if I let her, she just has a few as a treat. If her food bowl is shaken, while she's out playing, she goes in her cage straight away, food comes before anything else.
Thumper doesn't like to be picked up. I'm sure its because she finds it uncomfortable, with her being such a large bunny, so we tend not to unless she has to go for a visit at the vets. Thumper loves cuddles. If you lie next to her, stroking her, she'll stay in the same position for ages, unless she thinks some tasty food is coming her way of course. She also loves lying near Kathy's feet (my other daughter), see picture below.
